Dovecote Farm Buttery
“The Buttery” is a wonderful barn conversion in a unique setting in the Northamptonshire countryside. Decorated in the New England style, the restaurant has an informal, relaxed atmosphere, in keeping with our rural location. It’s the ideal place to meet up with friends, hold a business lunch or enjoy Sunday lunch with the family.
Since it first opened, the Buttery has proved its appeal to all age groups – young people looking for an out-of-town meeting place, young families wanting a fun day out in the fresh air, and older people enjoying their retirement. Why not come and discover the Dovecote Buttery for yourself?
During the summer months, the restaurant opens its doors onto a outdoor eating area within a beautiful lawned garden.
Our restaurant is family-friendly and we offer a special children’s menu to satisfy small, but hungry appetites. A children’s play area, complete with swings, slides and picnic benches is situated at the front of the Buttery. Baby-changing facilities are also provided.
Hot Food and Lunches
The restaurant offers traditional, wholesome, home-cooked food made to order. We aim to source as many of our cooking ingredients as possible from local producers to the benefit of the local food economy. This policy also helps assure us of the best quality, fresh produce with which to create our menus.
Our substantial food menu includes snacks and full meals, as well as traditional Sunday lunch. So whatever time of day you call, there’s something for everyone. Our executive chef, Robert, puts a modern twist on some traditional dishes, so prepare to be pleasantly surprised when you browse the menu!
We also offer a seasonal menu at Christmas.
Traditional English Tea Room
We are justly famous for our cream teas, including a wonderful selection of hand-made cakes and scones, not forgetting the strawberry jam! Many would agree that this is the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing afternoon in the English countryside.
